Changes because of this process arepossible in all political areas.The first part of this paper describes the concept of Europeanization and three importantareas:- Europeanization of organisational structures,- Europeanization of political environment and condition and- Europeanization of content.An introduction of the German party system follows in the next part. This shows the developmentof the German parties after the second World War and the importance ofEurope for their identity.The fourth part describes the Europeanization of the German party system in the areaswhich were mentioned previously. In particular changes in the organisational structure ofthe German political parties and the development of the European Political Parties are discussed.Furthermore new developments in the election process, changes in the party structureand the legal aspects concerning this as a result of Europeanization of the political environmentwill be analysed. Finally the impact of Europeanization on the programs andgoals of the political parties will be described.
